A family was recently busted for secretly living in a Nevada children’s museum.

On top of that, the family was reportedly storing weapons in the museum as well.

KRNV-TV reports how the couple—both of whom work at the location— had been living in the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada which sits outside of Carson City, Nev. Someone had notified the Carson City Sheriff’s Office that they had spotted a toddler wandering around the museum without any adult supervisor in sight.

Responding officers observed signs that the museum was being lived in. When questioning the father’s child, Wilbert Calhoun, he denied that he and his family had taken up residence within the building.

Police then questioned Calhoun’s daughter, who gave her address as the museum.

The New York Post reports that Calhoun was arrested and charged with child neglect (something which Calhoun has been accused of previously). Then there’s the matter of the guns.

Along with the sleeping bags and other items indicating the family lived at the museum, officers discovered an AK-47 rifle, three handguns, a pistol, ammunition, knives, and a taser while searching the building. They additionally found drug paraphernalia and a used joint.

Needless to say, Calhoun also faces charges of possession of a suppressor and a shot barrel rifle. He was promptly fired by the museum.

His wife—who remains unnamed by news sources—currently does not face any charges, although she, too, was fired by the museum.

The museum announced on its website that it is currently closed following the incident. When it will reopen remains unconfirmed.
