Christ Church at Grove Farm

Sunday services are at 9 a.m. (traditional) and 11:15 a.m. (modern).

A free Fall Fest will take place 5-8 p.m. Sept. 24. Airbrush tattoos, inflatables, obstacle course, wagon rides pumpkin patch, games, touch a truck, fireworks and more. Food truck fare will be available for purchase.

Parenting with a Purpose begins Sept. 24. The four-week seminar will help parents navigate current challenges and obstacles children are facing. Each week will feature a different topic and a qualified, expert speaker. Topics include raising mentally healthy kids, understanding the teenage mind and online safety. Speakers include Duffy Robbins, Deb Ott and Stacy Gallagher. Childcare and kids programming are available.

The church will host an Oktoberfest Fall Dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the social hall. Dine in or takeout. For $12, get a choice of sandwich (pulled pork or kielbasa with kraut), choice of two sides (pierogies, haluski, baked beans, macaroni and cheese), and choice of homemade dessert. Beverages included for dining in. Children ages 4-9, are $8 and 3 and under eat free, dine-in only. Only 150 tickets will be sold. Contact the church office for tickets at 412-741-9430.

The Plarn Sleeping Mat Society will hold a workshop from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in the Gathering Space at St. James Church. Forty-five sleeping mats were sent to Ukraine this summer, but the stock piles are diminished. Cutters are needed to cut plastic grocery and newspaper bags, so bring bags and scissors. There is a supply of extra if volunteers need some. The bags are cut to create loops that are attached and roll into balls of plastic yarn — “plarn.” For more information, call Joanne at 412-741-2368.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

The church’s annual fall fest will be held 6-8 p.m. Sept. 30 on the front lawn. There will be food, drinks, yard games, a bounce house, crafts, outdoor movie, face painting and more.

On Wednesdays this fall, from 7-8:30 p.m., the church offers various Midweek Community options that focus on the essentials of life in Christ and pertinent interests we face in our daily lives.
